I remember it kept popping up in my youtube feed, and i kept avoiding it because i thought the thumbnail looked stupid. i dont know what convinced me to give it a chance, but eventually i did.

and, well, to say it blew my mind would be a grave understatment. theres not many things in life that i can say have had a genuine impact on my soul, but. this video, and i guess the starters series as a whole, did. it probably wouldnt be far from the truth to say it, in some way, led me to having the messed up tastes in media i do now. please, if your gonna watch any video on this page, do yourself a favor and watch the video above. its genuinely some really great stuff.

this videos pretty great too. it came to me at a strange time in my life. i think about it alot. makes me think about the past. all the countless people ive met and passed by. i wonder where theyre at now. what theyre doing. who they are now. isnt it funny, how the people i know the least of now are often the ones i think about the most? theres gotta be something comedic in that..

for the longest time the name of this series (because yes, the video there is part of a series) kind of escaped me. which was weird, because i was a pretty big fan of it back in the day. i was actaully convinced for a while that i dreamed the whole thing up. which, is ironic, considering the fact that Evaporate is a series based on the animators dreams... i think you should give Evaporate a watch at some point. its very, very, very underrated. quite hilarious at times, too. (give HorseFolder's content a watch too while youre at it. hes a very underrated animator. i love his style so much.)

did you know that the dude who made this spent like, 10 years making a full on cavestory RAP album??? you know, i think that deserves a round of appaluse. if you can, i suggest you stand up right and clap for this man. he deserves it.

i tend to not really like music that sounds like this. but, i dont know. something about the lyrics here really speak to me. i relate to them alot. a bunch of people probably would, now that i think about it. like regardless of who they are and what theyve been through, theres probably many who cant help but ask "how do i be competent?? is that even possible?? in this crazy world??", thats what i think anyway.

i miss flash games... in many ways, they were kind of like, the backbone of the internet. i may not be old enough to have experienced the big flash sites at their peaks, but,,, man im still old enough to have experienced what it was like playing stuff like sonic rpg and mario bros crossover on my school computer. i miss those days.

a while ago there was actaully a whole different audio track in the background of this video. it included voice acting and everything. the author edited it all out a while ago though. they never really gave a reason as to why. it kind of just happened. what they ended up replacing it with unfortunately kind of took away alot of the impact the video originally had for me. which sucks. not all is lost though, because as it turns out, a very long time ago, i actaully downloaded a copy of the video. one with the original audio intact. i found this out just today and i dont know if this particular version can be found anywhere else, so. here if you happen to be curious: https://pepsinsoftware.online/etc/tnlb8u.mp4 (shout out to my swedish friend for hosting this on his site)

This was the first clip i ever saw of Akira. even all these years later, it still sticks out to me. its probably one of my favorite scenes in any animated movie ever. Tetsuo's design, despite being so simple, genuinely makes me kind of jealous that i didnt come up with it.

...i have read chainsaw man btw. its one of my favorites. it doesnt quite reach tokyo ghoul levels for me though. (and no, i havent read part 2, nor do i intend to.)

this one almost inspired a scene in this comic i almost made about this boy who was attending a supernatural school that has these weird dream-like entities in it. anyway, her dance is so great. i wish i could dance like that.

i really wish this was a full on series i could sit down and binge. now that i think about it, theres lots of adult swim related things i wish were full on things i could sit down and binge. i remember when i was really young, there was this insane pilot for a show i saw, it was about this conan the barbarian looking guy, he was really buff, and it just looked really cool. i wonder why that it never made into a full show.
